Final Project and Studio Visit Feedback
Not much was discussed during the studio visit... everything seemed fairly straightforward and the proposed plan of approach satisfactory. Moving on from the studio visit, it was a fairly simple task of quickly masking a sheet of copper with the PnP printed/transferred rock texture, then setting it to etch in a bath of ferric chloride (which still kinda sucks up in the jewellery chem lab.... I think it needs to be stronger.) I've decided to scale down the project due to time and financial constraints (also it gets a little hard to etch anything over a certain size... since our etching bath is essentially a casserole dish...), though I would still probably revisit the initial design and actually produce it.... maybe next year... or in the coming future. (Some examples of metal choices and initial pattern) After that it was a simple task of sawing out the design, finishing the edges, soldering rivet wires to the back of the components, blackening the pieces with liver of s...
